New and Old News From Belinda Moore

Greetings from Mexico City. This is Belinda suffering, trying to understand this blog business. I am doing this due to the recent information that many of you have been unable to open our recent newsletters. I ask your patience as I work at sorting all of this out.
Vive La Vision
Life in the City
The strangest thing happened this month in Chapultepec park. The lake that we have always thought was a natural wonder isn't. It is man made. On the 6th of June the second section of the lake sprang a leak and within 15 minutes 50 thousand cubic meters of water (millions of gallons) disappeared. No one knows where the water went. I was so surprised to see thousands of fish (carp, mojarra, and tilapia) flapping around a muddy cement bottom. The hole is now being repaired. The wonders never cease in this city.

Elections
The 2nd of July is the Presidential elections for Mexico. By the time you get this we will have elected a new president. Please be praying for the new leader of this country. There are three candidates from the 3 main parties: PAN, PRD, and PRI. Vicente Fox who is now the
President, is PAN. May the best man win!

We have a new president, Felipe Caldaron. He represents the PAN party. His winning is being contested by the losing oponet, Manuel Lopez Obrador. He is demanding a recount of the votes since he lost by 1% of the popular vote.

Music Seminar
The 21st and 22nd of April the Benito Juarez congregation hosted a music seminar. The purpose was to learn new songs. The churches from Morelia, Tlalpan and Benito Juarez each shared with those who attended new songs. We have made 100 copies of the CD and have already distributed them. More are being made. We are excited about these new songs because many of them were written by Latin American song writers.

Group from Lubbock
We had our first group of the summer. The Monterey Church of Christ from Lubbock, Texas brought a group of 28 people. They encouraged us all by their good attitudes and hard work. On Saturday they did a carnival in the park, and it was a great success. We had 96 kids register with their parents. As follow up we are planning another fun day here in the Pink House. Please be praying for the success of this and that we will come in contact with those who are interested in knowing more about Jesus. It will take place the 21st of July. During the carnival the group did a puppet show. Monday and Tuesday night they did a repeat performance in the clinic. Both nights were well attended. On Sunday we had a family visit us during worship, and they are contacts from the clinic.

Pan de Vida
We are getting geared up to start planning and raising money for the soup kitchen The physical plans for the kitchen have been drawn, and the budget is being finalized. We ask that you begin praying earnestly for open hearts, pocketbooks and more full-time workers. Pedro Marin is already working hard to provide all of the information that will be needed for this dream.

The Clinic
Good things continue to happen at the clinic. Juan Pablo Yalaupari continues to dedicate Monday thru Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00. They are having new patients every week. We took the group to our local market to buy souvenirs, and one of the ladies who works there (that I have know for a long time) told me about her visit to the clinic. It was a proud moment. God is at work thru this community service. Pray for its continued growth.

More Full Time Workers
It is amazing how many people that we are meeting who live so far away from this delegation. There is a desperate need for more full time workers with brave hearts and a love for the lost. We just cannot begin groups in all of these places. So, we are asking you to also pray for more full-time workers.

Our Community Life
We find it rather difficult this time of year to maintain the consistency in our home groups. It is mainly due to final exams, people coming and going for vacations, summer groups, the rain . . . you name it, and it happens this time of year. But in the end of it all God has the first and last word, and we are just seeking to be faithful. Pray for us and our faithfulness.

Blessings to you all, Billy and Belinda Moore
